Martyn_Stephen_1.jpg
Stephen and Martyn have been using Shot! darts for the past few months.  Working  with Pumas' designers  they were able to fine tune their darts to their specifications  and are very pleased with the results they have been getting!   Check out their comments below...

Stephen writes;   (on the lefthandside)

"My darts have been designed to compliment my throw and stance as I throw on tip toes ( hence my nickname "the nutcracker") My darts are made with 97% tungsten and are precision made to my first design.

The ring grip that Shot!/Puma  have designed,  make the balance of the dart hit the board at the perfect angle and ensure good grouping within the trebles.....and lethal on doubles...   Stephen Hardy

Martyn writes;
"I have been using my new Puma Shot darts for three months now and I am delighted at the extra confidence the darts have given me.    The design and the balance of the dart is second to none and the grip is better than anything I have used in the past.    The Puma team have created a perfect dart for me and made the game more enjoyable to play than ever before".... Martyn Turner

10th Sept 09     40 YEARS OF DARTING INNOVATION

Puma Darts is now in its 40th year and continues to grow in its Darts niche not only in sales and markets but also in recognition of its role in innovation in this specialised market.

Puma Darts still manufacture in New Zealand our quality lines of Darts and Dartboards, which does set us apart from our competitors. Some may wonder why but our reasons are simple – a strong base in NZ gives us an edge in new product development and quality control. Quite literally we can lead the way!!

This commitment to innovation has continued and next month Puma Darts will release its new Bandit Plus board- this board is an advancement on its flagship board “The Bandit” which revolutionised the Dartboard industry 10 years ago. The key features of this new board are presentation and ease of hanging etc.

Puma Darts are also releasing a new global brand – Shot! Darts. In the past Puma Darts have been reliant in many markets on distributors brands due to Puma not being able to be used in some markets. Shot! Darts is aimed at the discerning dart player with the Darts and Dartboards being manufactured only in New Zealand. The range flagship product, is the ability for a customer to customise their own one off set of darts.

Watch this site over coming months as Puma Darts' website will also be having a face lift.

17th April 09   Worlds Greatest Pound for Pound Boxer sponsors LA dart Tournament

As promised update on the Manny Pacquiao tournament.

Top players came from all over the U.S. to participate in this event, from the East Coast to the West Coast alike. Three Men's Singles - each at $2000 for first. Added to the $1200 payout for 1st place in the triples, $2000 payout for 1st in the Doubles and another $1000 for 1st in the Blind Draw!

Robert Heckman made it to the finals of the first days event, playing a great Philipinnes player named Nico Depenos. The first leg went to Nico, Robert won the next leg which was Cricket. Robert started the 301 leg with a 71 on, but Nico countered with a brilliant 160 on! Then he went 81 and checked out a 60 for a nice 9 dart game (Robert was sitting on 130). Then came a second game of Cricket and a nice back to back 9 marks (19,18,18 & 17,16,15) secured the win for Nico. Darren Young won the Men's Cricket Singles against Scotty Burnett. Gordon Dixon, the Sunday Men's Singles 501, beating Joe Slyvan in the end. Darren Yound & Nick Mandrilla won the Draw Doubles, Nico Depenos & Sammy Cruz won the 501 Doubles and Julie Heckman took second in the Mixed Triples with Scotty Burnett and Frank Hernandez, loosing to Brad Wethington, Darren Young and Jan Turner

Manny, Gretel Flores and Chris White played the triples event on Saturday. They won their first round but unfortunately ran into a top American team consisting of Darin Young, Brad Wethington and Jan Turner. On Sunday, Manny and Chris teamed up to play the 501 doubles to which they drew another top team, #1 ranked American, Gary Mawson and Timmy Nicoll and lost 2-0. If Manny keeps practicing, watch out cause he has the makings of being a fine player. In the three singles events Chris lost to Sean Downs after missing or five doubles to win the match, in three good games against Scott Walaston and Isen Veljic who shot two nice fourteen darters against Chris. In the blind draw, Chris was teamed up with his good pal, Scotty Burnett which they did great until the semis where wthey ran into Darin Young and Nico Depenos.
