For over 40 years Puma Darts have been proud to be a leading global developer producer and marketer of darts, dartboards and darting equipment. We are based in New Zealand at our own manufacturing facility. We also have manufacturing facilities in China and Taiwan we work closely with, which allows us to be a comprehensive supplier to the world dart market in both soft and steel tip darts. We export around the world and are always looking to develop new markets.

Puma Darts was founded in 1970 by John McCormick, at the dawn of an age in which the dart industry would flourish like never before. As Patron of the NZ Darts Council for over 20 years, John had invaluable knowledge and an in-depth understanding of the dart market. This knowledge has been passed onto his son Peter McCormick and upon John's death in 2003, Peter assumed the position of Managing Director and Patron of the NZ Darts Council. Julie Carlson, John's daughter has also now joined the business as Marketing Director.

Puma Darts factory and head office is situated in Katikati, approximately 2 hours drive South East from Auckland in the Bay of Plenty. Katikati is known as a horticultural area where its main crops are Kiwifruit and Avocados. However it is also known as the mural town – as the town features many murals portraying the story of this area. Katikati is also growing as a niche-manufacturing hub.

Being an innovation led company, we developed the now famous Bandit bristle dartboard, which we believe to be the worlds finest bristle board. This board is made only in our New Zealand factory. Our attention to quality has lead us to being recommended for Tournament and recreation play of the WDF.
Our success has been recognised by the New Zealand Government with a Global Export Commendation Award and our manufacturing facility has obtained ISO 9000: 2000 Quality Accreditation. In the process, a unique business culture has emerged that drives our employees to perform their absolute best.

In 2009 Puma Darts launched a new brand of darting equipment aimed at the discerning dart player - 
Shot! has evolved as a result of Puma Darts desire to establish a truly international brand that it can take to every corner of the globe. Derived from Puma Darts philosophy of excellence, every Shot! product has been manufactured with the care and attention you expect from master craftsmen in pursuit of excellence. Shot! features the ability for a dart player to customise their own dart for there particular throwing style and personality and is an exciting innovation.
2009 has also seen the very successful Bandit board enhanced with new style features- Bandit plus. Bandit plus features a plastic composite surround and backing board which makes the board more attractive to the eye as well as easier to mount on the wall and will not scuff walls as traditional boards have done.
Simply, our business is manufacturing and marketing the best and the most innovative darting equipment in the world.
At Puma Darts we aim for perfection and being a complete solution for darting equipment has led to us being the preferred dart brand and supplier to many around the world.
